A poem about anorexia nervousa.
I did it because I desired beauty
That November filled with biting air.
The rain bitter, smelling of rotten fish
For once my ghostly appearance was the stranger in the mirror.

I did it because I wanted attention
To get it I would have done anything.
Cold sweats and no food to feed my brain
Just to achieve the perfect body.

I did it because you said I was fat.

I did it because I thought I really was.

That November filled with biting air
The rain bitter, smelling of rotten fish
At last, I was the stranger in my mirror.
