I wrote this in seventh grade for language arts about the recent tsunami.
The Tsunami

Screams echoed through my head
I rushed outside, into the confusion.
People were running this way and that
I stared up at the giant wave as it towered over me
Reaching its arms toward me
I tried to run, but my feet were cement blocks
The wave swallowed me whole like a giant

Distant screams, roaring water, floating bubbles rushing around
The bubbles led me to the surface,
But the waves quickly fought to rip me back down.

Then, the darkness -
Death’s best friend, came
Flooding my vision,
Ending my life
The screams faded,
The confusion left,
The water disappeared.
