Wasn't necessarily depressed as this may seem.
Lost Sanctuary
by: buttuglymoose

Searching the skies for a missing tune,
I found my heart on the face of the moon.
My body was braced against the flow,
of the rivers that only time would know.

wrapped around me like a cold embrace,
like seeing a nearly-forgotten face.
It chills me...
breaks me...into the shape I have never known,
the fearful space within my heart I've come to call my own.

Clutching my hopes I closed the doors,
My soul's gateway did open no more.
As that day marked the coccoon of my shell
Groping in the darkness from what little I could tell.
The ground was cold beneath me as I curled up on the floor,
My body was slowly going numb as I could feel it no more.

No one could enter past those gates,
none knew what lay inside...
Not till a curious visitor came
and to closed doors did pry.

It's hinges screamed an angry cry,
the darkness fled from determined eyes..
yet I could not turn around to stare,
to whomsoever had just entered my layer.

My sickened soul had yearned for this light,
it shown from behind my turned back,
warming still...and then my sight-
returned, my eyes had flown open.

Your hand rested so gently on my shoulder,
but to my inner demons it was like that of a boulder,
The little that this hand hand did shake,
to these demons was a furious quake.

Closing my eyes, I held back the tears,
Who so wished to demolish these fears...?
what had I done to deserve this,
I pondered as I felt my head being kissed.
There was a silence in my body that drowned out all the screams,
my demons were so dying that I could feel them writhering.

I shook to their pain, and slowly did return,
though every inch of my skin had started to burn.
No longer was I lifeless- as you took me in your arms,
...no longer do you need this fear..you are safe from harm
