"Through The Windowpane"

Dreams of Christmas

When we were just kids
there were magic scenes,
of bright colored lights
and candy cane dreams.

The sounds of Noel,
smells of evergreens.
Dime sized snowflakes
and home-made ice cream.

Frosty cold mornings,
lawns covered in snow
bright sparkling gems
like diamonds aglow.

Stories of Santa
and wondrous reindeer.
Cold nights, warm blankets
bells rang in our ears.

Heard tales of elves
and the toy factory.
Stood in line all day
to sit on his knee.

We'd wake up early
get Dad out of bed.
Unwrap our presents
and a brand new sled.

We all grow older,
memories will change
but dreams of Christmas
remain quite the same.
