A neophyte reads Moby Dick and is inspired to write a related poem.
salt flavors the eternal fog
no beacon guides a ship without eyes
rain pelts what wind molests
scent of prey
fuels a frenzied chase
peril slapped in the face
with a fool’s white glove
ghostly vultures circle silently
ignorance tenaciously rows toward death
folly calls cadence as
sanity is mocked
wisdom’s revenge violently
executed
red water is free of innocent blood
