this poem is about being engaged to be married to a man that your parents don't like.
What is wrong?
Can I be strong?
Why can't I love another?
Wedding engagment
Mom and Dad aren't happy

Your mood
Not happy
You think he's too old
And I'm too young
To make a decision

That involves the rest of my life
Just take a chance
Take a risk
But us verses you is
Good verses evil

But what is the problem?
Why can't you accept him?
Accept us?
But why can't
The arguments stop

And you being concerned avout me
I don't know
Why can't I
Make decisions
On my own
Without your say
In everything

I'm not a child
Not nine, eight, or seven years old
Anymmore
I just want to feel
Grown
Because of the independence

I have someone to love
But when your grown
You don't need another
Say in what you want to do

Parents
Protection
Please let it sop
It bothers me
Like an repeapting pen tapping on a school desk
I want to love someone
I hope you can understand
About the man I love.
