A few words on the subject of Rain.
rain

rain can come down many different ways

there is the soft wet rain
which is well, wet,
a rain whose dropplets set the scene for a supprise kiss in the park.

there is rain that pours down in buckets;
that makes days cold dreary with nothing to do
these are the days that welcome the cat and the hat.

then there is rain that cant seem to make up it's mind,
a sprinkle here a downpour there
the sky seems to be a broken salt shaker-- at first not enough then it just comes falling down.

the angry rain never seems to make ones day
except for when you are just as mad, the rain seems to comfort you
then and only then is angry rain nice.

threatening rain seems to ruin more days than anyother,
should i go out? will i get wet? what happens if it rains?
it is so confusing and you end up staying at home knowing you should have gone out.

some rain just seems to go one forever
eventually you put on your yellow gloshers and wade out into the storm
and the rain keeps coming down, indifferent to you.

you are having a nice day in the park, playing with your kids,
or perhaps you are on the side of the freeway with a flat tire,
you thank the skys for being so clear,

boom.

and it is raining cats and dogs just to spite you and you know it
what have you done wrong? it was an innocent day at the park and flat tires are inevitable.
on occasion the rain just hates you.

but when you are late to work, and your boss raises that eyebrow,
you state very simply and matter-of-factly

it was the rain.
