A poem about the imagination taking over reality, causing paranoia.
It's in my head all over again
I can't take this anymore
He's living, he's breathing
But where is he now?

He's on his way home
He just called on the phone
But is he okay?
I hope the roads are safe

There's a knock at the door
Is that the police?
He's still in his car
I hope not on a stretcher

It's just the wind
Howling an omen?
He should be here any minute
Without a scratch, I pray

There's the rattle at the door
He's home at last
"Honey, I'm home!"
That's not his voice...
