Poem musing on differing aspects of life experience
Intertwined and fluted tracks struggling to mingle
Gashes bruise clay flesh
Old wounds visible and raw
Others become mere smoothly cracked dents

Carefully maintained internal division is the essence
Strands co-existing on different tracks of intent
Weaving, diving, never quite acknowledging
Until sudden consciousness of demarcation shed light

Imprints are slowly introduced
Co-existence tentatively forays

The elements have been separate for so long
They spar, touch, spring away - otherness embedded
It's too hard, too painful
forbiddenness prevails
Hidden etchings reveal deeper, once-lost stories

Time works at the mire, healing from the surface down
Earth steadily covering, easing and filling
Topsy-turvy but it works
Soft soil relieving and nourishing

United mud becomes visible to others
Yet inspiring hate from blinkered beings

Maybe disconnected from themselves...
... envious of others connecting

And the hacking commences

Opening the still visible scars
