In Retrospect

Looking back at the things I have done,
I wonder sometimes, were they wrong???
Did I hurt a heart? Did I fade a smile?
Did I do anything that was vile?

Forgive me Lord, If I gave someone pain,
If ever I stepped on another for my own gain,
A mere mortal am I, can’t promise never to repeat,
But try I will, try to accomplish the feat.

There have been times, I wont deny,
When all I wanted was to fly.
And nobody mattered, not even my own,
I must’ve hurt souls, tender and lone.

I repent today for all my wrong,
And make up my will, real strong.
I never shall act before a thought,
‘Twill save me from repenting a lot.

My life, In retrospect I view,
Seems rosy, except a problem or two.
Thank you, my dear people, yes that’s you,
For making my journey as pretty as dew.
