A parent giving her daughter advice on how to live a good life. Contains only commands
Do the dishes. Sweep the floor. Dust the living room. Go to the store.
Do this. Do that. Take his dirties to the laundry mat.

Keep him happy till he’s old. Do what ever you are told.
Wear a smile, laugh at jokes. Make sure to impress his folks.

Think good thoughts; Act most proper. Wear your very best topper.
Apply your makeup, bottom to top. Be sure to make his jaw drop.

Answer the door and sit on the couch. Wait to be complimented, do not slouch.

Eat like a lady. Don’t be chatty
Represent who we are, keeping in mind our fame. Make sure to often mention our family name.

Walk, head held high, confidently by. Make others jealous and sigh.
Win him over, tempt his mind. To other women make him blind.

Listen to what he talks about. Love any present he might give out.

Have good children. Raise them right. Always keep them in your sight.
Let them learn. Let them play. Know when to give them away.

Listen to my words dear child. And you’ll have a life beguiled.
