The last poem I wrote before I got into novel writing
He left at 8:00 A.M.
That's when my brother left me that day
I asked him why
He told me not to live life in dismay
Because he would return to I

He left at 8:00 A.M.
As he stepped upon that bus
I simple wished to grab onto his arm
And beg him not to leave us
For I never wished to see him do harm

He left at 8:00 A.M.
For our country he will fight
Far away from home
And I pray for him every night
That he shall never be alone

He left at 8:00 A.M.
Oh how I wish he was here
Because I see the death on the TV
And oh how I fear
That his face I shall see

He left at 8:00 A.M.
I watch how our leaders speak
And I wonder if the real know
The pain this war will reek
And there is no knowing how far it shall go

He left at 8:00 A.M.
I recieved a letter today
My brother I shall never see
How I wish there was more to say
Because of him I am free

Listening to all of the strife
Continuely messes up my life

Why him and not me
Was there something I didn't see

When will it all be clear
When can I wipe away this tear

How I wish this was all pretend
But the truth is I lost my best friend

But you know it all ends the same way
Only one thing comes to mind when I look back on that day

You see...he left at 8:00 A.M.
And he'll always be in my heart
And that shall never part
