Poem is written from the viewpoint from man accepting after learning about a past.
As I sit here writing this,
Thoughts of you come to mind
Along with what you told me.
I have all these emotions jumbled up,
Anger being the most predominant.
Mostly anger at men who abused you;
You didn't deserve that pain.
I wish I could take that all away,
But I have no power to do that.
You blame yourself for actions
That were done by others.
I can see that you still blame yourself.
Honey, it wasn't your fault
Your uncle used you to get sex
And you were innocent then.
A hope I have for you is
You'll except this hope for yourself.
I want you to know,
I still love you
And except you for who you are.
I still want you to be my wife.
