This is a poem about meeting someone, loving them, losing them.
The first time I saw you
You were walking away,
And I cried that night
For you to stay
Just a little longer
Just a while, dear.
Give me a chance
To disappear.

The first time we kissed
You were turning away.
I reached for your face
To make you stay
Stay a bit longer
Just a while, my dear.
Give it a chance
to end your fear.

When we first made love
You were looking away.
I turned you around
To keep you at bay
Just a minute longer
Just a while I fear.
Give me a chance
To disappear.

The first time you left
I wasn't surprised.
You saw the pain
Fill my eyes.
Just a little longer
Just a while, my dear
And all my pain
Will disappear.
