This came to me on a quiet, dark winter's night
A silence pierces the quiet.
No noise has ever sounded louder; and yet not have been a noise.
A low ringing - just out of conscious - yet so loud.
Eternally dark, this sound. So black. The depths of night deprived of moon or star.
Is this the root of madness, this sound? Insanely quiet.
