A story about the friendship between a boy and a girl that is forbidden be normalicy.

By The Creek- Chapter 1

It's a perfect day to some people if they

could sit on the couch all day watching

television and eating their favorite foods. To

others it's traveling to Hollywood to meet the

stars. Who ever thought that the perfect day

would consist of sitting by a creek, talking to

a boy. Forbidden in school, our friendship

flourished by the Creek.

It was my first day at Oakwood Middle

School. I felt strange. All of the kids were

pointing and whispering. I could hear them

saying,"Look. There's that new girl, Emily. Look

at what she's wearing!"

Already, I was the laughingstock of the

whole school. I edged along the hall with my

head down feeling their eyes burning holes in my

neck. My first period class wasn't any better.

I realized that girls and boys couldn't be

friends unless they were dating. This was

daunting, seeing as I was a tomboy. I saw one

guy glance at me and wave. By the time Ms. Black-

man called attendance, I knew his name. Jess

Phillips.

I wanted so much to talk to him, but we were

seperated by a stampede of animals in miniskirts

and football jerseys.
