If life is a river then where does it end?
It begins from the deepest blue
That covers the restless earth
Too deep to be discovered,
Too dark to see its worth
It rushes through the crevices
Filtered by rocky coves
It runs faster than the timid deer
that drink with fawning love
It widens in the forests
It narrows in the hills
So quickly does this water run
That time seems to stand stock still
For this river moves with purpose
It never lies in wait
Summer, fall and winter
till spring comes storming in
To swell its bulging belly
To run away again
Back to that endless surrender
of the sea to begin
all over again.

Run sweetly, dear pure river
Only stay for a time with me
As I drop within your bosom
To mingle with you in the sea.
