This poem is about the sad ironies that human beings have created in life.
Abdul-the first man i christened,
Oft sat on the hard rocks of kindness street,
And spoke to me of those destined,
With fortune to meet,
He spoke of democracy and anarchy ,
In the kingdoms of his mind;
He made many a profane profecy,
On many a prodigal prodigy,
And then he would bind ,
All this with talk of vegetables.
I would oft beside him recline,
with the youthful curiosity,
Of one who opens a present,
For his banter seemed a mine-
Of all that was worldly lent;
And so we sate together
Both children of God,
And stared unjust irony of life;
In the face.
A hard spanking brought about an end ,
To his soliloquoy on the stage of my youth.
I drowned in waves of changing trend,
And was soon to blind to see,
Through the eyes of a child,
That Abdul was truly sane,
Only stuck in a world of those vain,
Of their insanity.
