Somewhat Sad and yet Hopeful
I saw the Century turn
Sleeping, awakening, rolling over to see outside the door
It counted with a million eyes in the past
Holding Its breath til the day It rose
Out of bed, out of slumber
Slogging on wrinkled feet now growing smooth
It peered from Its intricate little window
At the new, sparkling world
Having waited for this day, It had smiled
Feeling disease and heartless as the smile became a frown
Looking down upon this world
This NEW AGE
Wrapped in a flaming package of bombshells
Threats
Poison
Cried Idiocy
And Childless Whores
What a wonderful birthday gift
I wish this generation
Would go back to sleep
And remember what it’s like
To just dream.
