Twighlight

Blue skies turn orange, then red, and melt into
the deep purples of dusk
The busy hum of the city diminishes to a soft
whisper
Streetlights cast a vivid glow on the pavement
The sun sinks far below the horizon
Darkness envelops us like a thick, impenetrable
blanket
Night creatures stir
Ready to frolick in their unlit world
The moon rises
A large sphere suspended in a black sea above us
slowly passing overhead
Brilliant beams of light spilling down onto the
Earth
Hours pass
The moon dips lower, hiding from view
Colors spread across the land
The world is clothed in bright hues
Dawn is here
