Marriage Hurts
MY LOVER - MY ENEMY
MY LOVER- swept me off of my feet with promises
of a life brand new
MY ENEMY- took me as his wife then left me sad and blue
MY LOVER- held me in his arms and wiped away my
tears
MY ENEMY- reached down deep inside and brought out
all of my fears
MY LOVER- was very sweet and kind; so gentle with
each touch
MY ENEMY- took a forceful hand that hurt me very
much
MY LOVER- took away my insecurities and promised
to protect
MY ENEMY- took my heart and soul and treated them
with neglect
MY LOVER- said that he would take care of me until
the very end
MY ENEMY- was empty and cold and had no Love to
send
MY LOVER- took his hand in mine and made me warm
inside
MY ENEMY- took away his hand to catch me when I
would hide
MY LOVER- was warm and understanding; he filled
my heart with joy
MY ENEMY- knocked me back and forth as if I were
a toy

I Loved my LOVER with all of my heart. I miss him every day.
But I am thankful to escape my enemy each night as I sit and pray.

MY LOVER- was my only light in a dark and empty
life
MY ENEMY- darkened all of my dreams the day I
became his wife

My enemy and my Lover were one in the same. But the only similarity is that they had one name.
