poem re. music in my day
The rhythmic bump of my heartbeat,
The thrum of tensing muscles and nerves,
A sense of unfolding and heightening senses,
I wake to the vibrancy of a spectrum of hue,
And the crescendo of song as I welcome another day of joy,
Or challenge on the scale.
