The frightened side speaks.
“Lumber”

backed in the corner, choking out screams
scared to face life and all that it means

face in the crack to hide from the fear
stay here ‘til days all fade to a year

blind and deluded yet safe from the world;
withholding experience, shriveled and curled

locked, tied down, and unwilling to choose.
unable to decide on which path to move.

outside to inside and inside is out.
facing directions will make you shout.

angst ridden fear and doubt or distrust
you will soon choose, for choosing is a must

picking a path, pray guided by hopes,
the ground rocky and tricky with slopes.

where will you trip? will you even stumble?
worn out and tired and infinitely humble.

expansive oblivion makes twitchy innovation
registering that which is naught but renovation;

take the mental forms crippled by social norms
whirling and twirling hallucinatory storms.
