A poem, for those who suffered the atrocity of My Lai, during the vietnamese war.
My Lai

As we entered the peaceful village,
We knew, and they knew why the soldier’s presence was due,
They had come to search for the so-called enemy,
Who aimed to make their country something they thought it should be,
Even though the scarceness of them was blatant,
They still wanted to cause some damage,
We as reporters turned around,
The silence was deafened by the sound of death,
Women and children were the ones, who suffered this mess,
Oh my
Oh my
My Lai
