Anyone who has survived a hurricane can identify with this.
Thunder echoes with a volley
to make its presence felt.
A storm is forging fast ahead
we play the hand we're dealt.

The Devil's howling at my door,
I fight to keep him out.
A hurricane is hitting hard,
can't hear below a shout.

Rain is beating on my roof
I fear this awful din.
Shingles flying everywhere
and Hell is getting in.

Nature played her savage game
in her fury and her wrath.
I'm hanging on by fingernails,
this breath could be my last.

Wind and rain have stopped and then,
I'm in the eye of Death.
Shrieking screams, surreal scenes
those who took their last breath.

Soon the eye will pass us by,
the storm will have her fill,
but for now her fury churns
as the winds come back to kill.
