poem about one night in college.
This silent night, gray and clear.
Sleep as elusive as the dreams it brings.
And you.
A presence not felt, just known.
Known beyond our limited words and gestures.
Just known, like an instinct.
Like a mothers gentle lullaby.
There's so much I could say, so many empty words.
So many waves in the empty air.
The space between us.
Eternity.
Eternity in a moment.
Moments in eternity.
The space between your breaths.
All of it amazing.
Everything.
The perfect tempo you keep.
The symphony in the rise and fall of your chest.
The Rise and Fall of Empires.
You are ordered chaos, and chaotic order.
A Paradox.
An angel in Hell.
Just an angel.
Or, more likely a goddess.
And you have blessed me.
This night.
And forever.
