A satirical yet darkly moving poem about the fall of an empire.

Stones and mortar, wood, brass and steel,
Build it up, an empire heal.
Civilisations rise and fall, a great new age,
Come one, come all visit history's new stage.

Layers of life compounded over eons,
Make up this empire, known as Theons.
Struggles pass, colours of purple,
Humans consume more than they give back to nature and therefore are creatures of destruction and spite.

The fall of the empire is tragedy in its basis,
The spirits of loving organisms rebuilt with homeostasis.
Ancient words filled with ancient meaning,
So ancient they're rusty, it's time for a cleaning!

Wash us clean with water and lye,
make soap from human lipids drenched in personality.
The tyrany of man will not be tolerated,
whence they came they shall be emaciated...
Something wicked this way comes.

Mount Franklin pure spring water,
the content of every insomniac's dreams.
For the sleep shall come with the fall of an empire.

Dedicated to Thelma and Louise,
1976...
For Whom The Empire Has Been Rebuilt.
