A personal opinion on the effects of too much TV "programming".
Abrupt and tense
Mindless and dense
The gnawing, the thrashing
Flickering and flashing
Nightly habit, a ritual
Sometimes consentual
The young and old
The weak and bold
Their lives on hold
Same stories, re-told
Destructive whining
Political pining
Scarcastic commentary
"Some views may vary"

Like a worm burroughing and weaving through the flesh of fruit,
"It" gets in you and spreads its depression and and dilution,
The de-sensitizing effects are disasterous, taking root,
And the echoes, so unbearable, repeating their twisted "solutions".

We watch it,
We create it,
Some live for it,
Some hate it,
Fifty hours a week
Informational seek
Left-wing, right-wing
Fictional reality
Commercialized,oversized
Plastered with the "greatest buys"
A testament to "dumming-down"
An expensive smile behind a frown
Sit at the foot of the plastic god
Transported to places not yet trod

Infants have no cerebral awareness of "it"
Their lives so pure, un-spoiled, un-broken,
Blissfully, ignorant to the poisons which bleed through the screen, ten feet away from daddy's recliner.

To them it is just static...to them it's where "The Wiggles" live.
