I think this poem needs a lot of work so pls review with advice
What can I say?
I left you ,
because I needed freedom .
No more of your cries in the dark
Or small hands that ached
To touch what was not yours!

You tried to win my heart;
I wanted to crush yours.
I wouldn't kiss
Or soothe your hunger for more
As I did my own.
You kept fighting .
Trying to hold on
as I left you all alone.
I placed you in a place of cramped space
where the smell of urine and garbage never leaves.

You lay between black bags under a dark night sky.
As I walked away with more energy in my steps.

I heard your shrill cries to the far away moon and to the one who never wanted to
hold you in their arms again

Maybe someone will find you
And love you,
embrace you as I never could.
I think as I push the needle in my arm
falling into oblivion once again.
