A little poem composed while procrastinating
Idle Mind

Whiling away the time I find
I have let wander thought and mind
Reality has slipped away
And in its wake fancy does play

I dream and muse, my focus sapped
Until I find that I am trapped
Alas! I’m overcome with dread
For I cannot escape my head

To long idle I have remained
And from my duties have refrained
Thus like a swooping bird of prey
Sleep seizes me, and has its way

Sleep that doth re-stitch loosened strings
And cleanse our minds of cluttered things
Sleep which bloody Macbeth had not
Has disaster unto me brought

For now my work remains undone
While my subconscious has its fun
Diligent one should always stay
Lest thought and mind end up astray
