A poem about a bed of pine needles

Pines

I lay on thickest carpet
of the needle covered ground
for a time of rest and silence
when there's no one else around.

Soft comfort made by nature,
such a plush and peaceful bed;
A place where I can find escape,
pine trees whisper overhead.

Time will come and time will go
and I've seen the warning signs,
but time, for me, will stand quite still;
in the shelter of the pines.
