well tried to explain the process of addiction
sittin in my friends room
thats the first time we met
your fair tender skin
made my lips go wet

he told me you were smooth
really easy to get along
wished he was telling the truth
but you were filled with lies yet never wrong

i let you touch my mouth
and waited for you to light
you fuelled my desire
and my lips yearned to bite

you eminated from the fire
lighter than air you danced with breeze
and in our kiss you filled me in
penetrating my dreams took away my peace

felt like i was in heaven
feeling light for us to dance
your body turning red hot
never allowed me a second chance

from then on we kissed everyday
i always kept you near
the thought of you going away
was now my primal fear

my feelings getting so strong
i promised my company till you turn into ash
we transcended time and made love so often
our love the same in funeral or a birthday bash

and then one day it happened
you faithfully went in and refused to come out
i thought it was my heart which was crying
in your embrace coldn't figure my lungs scream and shout

gone were the days
when we sang in the rain
everytime i kiss you
i'm reminded of pain

your love inside me
fought to get free
smiles have turned into cough
i have nowhere to flee

now i lay on my bed counting
i've been told its my last day on earth
your memories haunt me
i was paying for a promise not worth

as seconds tick away
i try to remember my dreams of accumulating wealth
alas the train has left the station and i'm too late
to have told myself "smoking is injurious to health"
