The Breathtaking beauty of Spring

A butterfly flows on the wind
And sails across the sky
A warming breeze has touched her wings
The sigh of Spring blows by

Inhaling her sweet pheromones
The soil becomes alive
As tender shoots and tiny buds
Within her hands revive

Soon gently flowing rainbows bloom
As waves upon the ground
And nestled in the petal's hues
The jewels of Spring astound

Reflections of another world
Without the winter white
Where dewdrops sparkle once again
The gems of morning's light

The songbird sings a serenade
Of lyrical delight
Rejoicing in returning home
The journeys~end of flight

Then tiny Peepers catch the tune
And on the first warm night
A symphony of trilling voice
Illuminates twilight

As trees begin to feather out
With greens.. in leaps and bounds
The water chimes . . in icy brooks
Regain their tinkling sound

A blaze of color touches earth
Replacing all the rust
Our spirits feel refreshed and new
When springtime starts to blush

A butterfly flows on the wind
But ... is she .. a disguise?
Is she .. the breath of spring to come
Or wings that touched the sigh?
