After months of not writing...Candle Maker's poem and my response.
Singin’ the Blues and not very well
by Candlemaker

Battered by the blackened hues
Of long lost dreams and delta blues
And where’s the whitewash balm indeed
To soften here the jaded need

Of black and blues and garbled greens
No nameless love nor dreamy scenes
To put it right or set me free
And that’s the way it’s gonna be

Yellowed bones a woeful heap
And precious little bits of sleep

In fits of sleep I sometimes find
Those things I thought were left behind
A memory's picture yellowed with time
A sense of what was once sublime

Before the whitewash of time gone by
and I was left alone to cry,
Blackened, muddled greens and blues
Were not my palette to refuse

And jaded though the need may be
These precious dreams are here for me
