releasing the hurt of a broken heart
You said you loved me
You told me you cared
You said you would always be with me
You promised for all eternity

I soon realized
You lied when you said you loved me
You lied when you told me you cared
You lied when you said you would always be with me
You lied when you promised for all eternity

So now those words
I thought were sweet and true
Just turned sour with your lies

So I take this shiny sliver knife
And carve L.I.E.S on my wrist
I watch the blood trickle down my arms
onto my hand down my fingers
And onto my finger tips
Dripping red dots on the floor

I slowly fall to my knees
feeling light headed and weak
As my head makes contact with the cold floor
I see you face appearing over mine

I see pain and fear in your eyes
why the pain?
why the fear?
why the hurt?

I feel my eyes slowly closing
Slowly shutting down

I awake later soon to see
needles and tubes all over my arm
the arm that I carved L.I.E.S in
is now wrapped with bandage

and what I don't understand is why you're here
by my side,
holding my hand,
like you promised

I’m confused, I don't understand
You lied when you said you loved me
You lied when you told me you cared
You lied when you said you would always be with me
You lied when you promised for all eternity

my sight is starting to dim
and as I take one glance upon you,
you smile and grasp my hand very tight,
not wanting to let me go.
your eyes cry a river for me,
you hug me and say your sorry.

The air in my lungs is slowly slipping away,
I hear the alarm of the machine go off,
I hear you say I love you.

and with a blink of an eye all is lost
