At Day’s End

Evening Star’s arrival
Evicts the lingering day,
As Night’s cool ebony blanket
Tucks in the Sun’s last rays.

Robins call their fledglings home
In joyous disharmony,
To snuggle safely in their nests
Lulled by whispering leaves.

Fireflies excite the skies
Awakened by the Breeze,
Answering, the Stars burst forth,
Joining Night’s exquisite revelry.
