Sonnett. Fun in the weird weather.
Springtime Winter Frolic At Midnight

I remember standing in your driveway
wearing shorts and only socks to cover
my feet, when you threw a ball of snow my way
and hit me in the face. I ran over
to you and shoved some snow down your pants,
not caring that my hands were getting numb
or that my socks were soaked. Wanting the chance
to catch thickly falling dime-sized flakes from
the April evening sky, I thrust out my tongue
while trying to dodge a frozen grenade,
wishing the last one that you threw hadn't stung
so much. Earlier we had drunk lemonade
while lounging in the springtime sunny weather.
Later we shared snow and cold fun together.
