expect
alone to feel like this

i did not
expect
alone to be this crowded

i did not
expect

to see so many
familiar faces here

i did not
expect
to cry a whole ocean
when you asked
f o r a r i v e r

i did not
expect
to feel pain take
my breathe, my blood, my eyes away
i did not
expect

alone to be
a permanent residence

inconceivable, unbelievable duration

i did not
expect
alone to be the same
carbon copies around the world

i did not
expect
alone to be this cruel

i did not
expect
alone to be everywhere

with you
