Dancing to a song and not being able to escape the one that they love.
Dancing to the songs of our past
Holding the object I devoted my life to
Caressing what was once mine
Bringing these words to the tip of my lips
But are forever hidden
My vision turns hazy as I draw in your scent
In ecstasy wanting to hold you again
But we're dancing to the songs of our past
Don't skip a beat
Our silent conversation growing between us
Afraid these words will come to life
My mouth opens
Breath hints of stale smoke
My only escape from bleeding
Hands clamped to my waist
Two hands can feel like the world
Chained down, I can't escape
Because we're dancing to the music of our past
