This is an example of spiritual self-analysis regarding a mother's children.
How can I describe the fears within my heart?
You have given me what I asked.
Is it fair to complain?
I always thought that they were mine,
But now I see my folly.
I prayed that they were Yours, Lord,
And this you have granted.
So why cannot I accept that they do not even know me?
Where is my relief that they know You?
We are so blessed by Your faithfulness!
Why does my sinful heart desire more?
Cannot I be satisfied with the knowledge that
They will be with me one day in Heaven?
Oh Lord don’t fail me now,
While I am weak with despair,
While my heart bleeds for the love of the children
You bestowed upon me at a time when I wasn’t ready to see
The gift you had given to me.
Do not punish them because of my human heart, Sweet Savior,
And let us live forever in Your kingdom.
