Random thoughts for homework
Falling Sky

The streets are busy,
The city an ant hill.
People are jambed to gether
Like sardines, on banks of a silver river.
Laughing,
Blind,
Foolish.
They think they know everything, in reality
They know nothing.
The waves lap gently on the shore.
The sky is clear, cloudless.

Out in the wild it's eerily calm,
The wind in the grass, and trees
The only sound.
Man's slaves are the only creatures to be found,
The sensible ones have all left for higher ground.

Back in the city it's starting to rain,
A shadow has fallen
Mankind's bane.
The sky is still blue but it has broken,
The gaping maw descends to the depth
Below, trying to staunch the hunger of the endless void.

People beg but they had been warned!
The messengers ran through the trembling earth.
The others had heard.
Only those claimed by humanitous had not.
If they were so smart they wouldn't have died.
But as the avalanche of water cascaded from the skies,
They were tossed like pups
By the kings of the sea,
Weak and powerless as leaves,
Outside the lea,
If they had listened to thier senses they would only had cried,
Instead of having to
Try, and not die, in
The whirlpool of chaos that is the oceans wrath.

If only they had paid attention to the world around them,
But they didn't,
And this Catastrophic disaster is the result.

Now all those that survived can do
Is beg from those untouched, unharmed,
The fortunate,
And weep for those unlucky, those who
For foolishness paid the ultimate price.
The sacrifice
Of life.
