This is a poem I wrote last year after a girl broke my heart.
Like April skies, your sunlit hair,
Your smile makes me melt
Your bright eyes and your skin so fair,
New feelings, strongly felt.

You've pierced my mind with Cupid's dart,
Entranced my mind does spin
It strikes my soul, hinders my heart,
And brings out the best within.

Forever gazing in your eyes,
Twinkling stars in seas of blue
Frozen in truth, I'm mesmerized,
My heart is yours, my love is true.

Compliments in heaven above,
I want to be your star
Not enough to explain my love,
I reach for you afar.

I'll wait for you, yet torn apart,
My love for you will never die
And though, but one in a collection of hearts,
I'll love you more than April skies.
