POem about survivors, war and government inaction to stop the repeating action
It happened so many years ago
Bludgened bodies lined blood soaked streets
Thousands killed, tortured and raped
Prisoners in thier own country - nowhere was safe
When the violence stopped and war ended
What was said after that - does anyone know?
"Never again" was screamed out load!
Still sadly it happened again -
Even though a different place and time
Many killed off for no reason - beaten and raped
Woman and children wiped out - for 100 days
Again it was spoken "never again"
Here we are today and sadly it still happens
Another country ravaged by death and torture
Woman and children beaten and killed once again
Left to die as they lie in the cold streets
Rivers of blood run down the way
Nothing is being done to end this horrific crime
When will we finally mean the words we say?
Will we actually follow through this time?
