Moral character
As the day grows long
and I wonder why
the sun has to set
on the dying day.

To live in the present
and forget the past
leaves us all wondering
about the future.

Can we really not care
as the sun goes down?

Can we go to sleep happy
with the sound of crying
children in our ears?
