A poem of regretted love upon retrospection.
Apple Fling


Spring…
In the air
Love sprouts
Giddy magic
Intoxicating like-
apple blossoms.

Summer…
Endless days
Of carelessness
No tomorrow matters
Love inconsequential grows
Foolish fruit like-
Children.

Autumn…
Cold realization
With first frost.
Apples fall
Rot and smell like-
Death.

And wishing futilely
history could
be swept
Or burnt like-
leaves.
