getting what you least expect
An old lady is on her bed waiting for supper.A young woman name Mona comes in and ask if she got Ms. Thomason's room. The old woman says yes.
"What can I do for you dear?"
"My name is Mona Simms. I was told to come and visit you about my family tree.?"
"Young lady, but you are black and I am white."
"What does that matter?" Mona questioned.
"Go on my dear."
"Ms. Thomason, can you tell me about a woman named Winifred Anderson?"
"Ah, ah, yes. What for?"
"That was my mother."
"Winifred was a very good friend of mine, you see. It was about 1954 down in the south. We were sitting waiting for a bus, just the two of us when we first met. Back then in those days that wasn't allowed. Well, anyway I asked her name and she told me to buzz off. I couldn't resist. She had a dark complexion, blue eyes and long, jet black hair, long legs and white straight teeth."
"Where is this going?" Mona replied.
"I'm telling you about Winifred." Ms. Thomason said sternly. "Listen up!" TO BE CONTINUED
