My mother was an inspiration to me, as she showed me what the world had to offer.
In my eyes, a tall and soft spoken mother I loved
Taught at a young age, the mystery of the sky
With all it's colors and shades of palest blue

Surviving the years, my mother was victorious
Special moments, that would sustain me for life
Life is a road well traveled when set out by fate

How could I smile, when laughter was always silent
My life changed forever and I never felt so alone
Can hate and bitterness have it's own drowning face

My totem was crooked and full of mental abuse
Succumb with emotions, that I dare not feel
Like a movie picture, that never becomes clear

Know yourself, as your faith is challenged daily
Love is but a word, that can be put on paper
But living with love can only make you stronger

And now I stand tall in my child's eyes
