A love poem of remembrance.
It's Yesterday Again

My summer time is over; roses no longer drape
in shades of pink to crimson, in perfect petal shape.
Shadows hover near me to escort me to my death,
but before they claim me, delay my final breath.

So in the early morning hours, refreshed by my sleep
my dreams come to tease, to play, my memories to keep.
I reach and try to grasp them, so sweet to the core.
It's yesterday again, I'm dancing with you once more.

My dress is soft and swirling, no cotton ties of down.
My shoes sparkle like red wine to match my crimson gown.
You pull me close and kiss me, my loving, handsome man
I hold you for a moment; it's yesterday again.

The time has come, our love has died, withered in the dust.
Ashes to ashes from fire; on heaven's love we trust
that someday, somehow, once again we'll see each other's face.
"It's yesterday again," you'll say, "thank God, amazing grace."
