i wrote shortly after learning of my moving from cumby tx to quinlan tx.
Tears For You

As I sit and stare
out at the sea,
I think of you.

You're beautiful smile,
and the way you hold me tight,
the way your lips touched mine
the first day you told me you loved me.

Then I think of how I must leave.
How I'll never feel your arms locked around me tight
or your comforting words
whispered softly in my ear.

And I cry,
Tears for you,
by the sea.

They fall to the waves
and are carried far away.
Far away,
to the beach you are on.

Crying tears for me,
as they fall to the sea....
