this unique filligree is mine
Go ahead little parasite,
Crowd right in with the rest.
Take your picks and chisels
And efface the very filigree that makes me unique.
Sift the fine dust through your hands
And cover yourself with it.
Feel it burn through your pores
And sweep through your bloodstream
And even deeper through your conscious.
Let it infect you like a cold,
The gripping kind that never lets go.
Pick up on my quirks
And carry on where I left off
And go ahead and grow
Because I'm not something that rubs off easily.
Let what I've created
Found the person you are
And all you become is an evolved copy.
But this virus cannot thrive
Outside of it’s original host
So it begins to die
And as you cling to the remnants of what you took
I’ll laugh, because after it’s gone
What have you got left
But the shell of a person
You scooped out bit by bit
And filled with me
